Masterclass on
Locally Led Adaptation
Welcome to the Masterclass on Locally Led Adaptation!
This is the beginning of your journey towards supporting truly transformational adaptation.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change defines transformational adaptation as adaptation action that results in significant changes in structure or function that go beyond adjusting existing practices, or deep systemic change that requires reconfiguration of social and ecological systems.
What could be more transformational than empowering vulnerable communities to decide how investments in their name should be used?
This Masterclass is a structured learning experience to help you translate the eight Principles of Locally Led Adaptation into practical tools and approaches for real-world use. It has been developed by the Global Center on Adaptation in partnership with the International Institute for Environment and Development.
